On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

If Northern Virginia is to avoid the economic deflation gripping much of the country and remain one of the most vibrant regional economies in our nation, we must take swift and decisive action. A looming economic cliff that we face in Northern Virginia is the projected fee increases on the Dulles Toll Road. To pay for Phase 2 of Dulles Rail, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority plans to stick commuters with 75 percent of the capital cost. By MWAA's own estimates, tolls will reach as much as $17 round trip by 2016 and $34 round trip by 2040.

Why should voters elect you?

I will bring an independent voice and new perspective to the state Senate, focused on getting things done for Northern Virginia.
