On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The most urgent problems are jobs and transportation. We are the No. 1 state for business, we balance the budget, income levels are high, state taxes are low and unemployment is below the national rate, but we need to keep improving our economy and attracting good jobs. I passed legislation to bring more high-paying jobs to Northern Virginia and continue working to promote business development as a member of Virginia's Small Business Commission. We aren't meeting our transportation responsibilities. I supported the governor's bond package and a long-term transportation bill that would have brought us $1.40 for every dollar raised.

Why should voters elect you?

I listen. I care. I lead on a wide variety of issues. I work with Democrats and Republicans to get things done for you.
