On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The recession is Virginia's most urgent problem. Inevitable reductions in federal spending will compound that problem, because more than 20 percent of Virginia's economy is directly tied to federal spending. To generate economic growth, and to diversify Virginia's economy, I want to reduce Virginia's corporate and personal income tax rates in a fiscally prudent manner. I want to make Virginia a magnet for businesses fleeing high-tax states like California and New York.

Why should voters elect you?

I have a proven record, in both government and the private sector, of innovative solutions to difficult problems.
