U.S. House, Virginia District 7
Analysis
» September 5, 2006 |
Since winning his seat in 2000 incumbent Eric Cantor (R) has been a reliably pro-business and pro-Israel conservative. In December 2002, incoming Majority Whip Roy Blunt unexpectedly named Cantor as his chief deputy whip, giving him a seat at the party's leadership table.
He will again face his challenger from the 2004 race, Brad Blanton, an independent. Democrat James Nachman has also entered the race.
