Died: April 2, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: Navy, 1st Combat Logistics Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Incident: Killed when the truck he was riding in rolled over in a flash flood near Al Asad. Nettles was previously listed as Duty Status - Whereabouts Unknown. His body was recovered April 16.
