Sean Stanley

Sport: Football Position: Defensive lineman/Defensive end/Tight end Height: 6'3" Weight: 240 High School: Gaithersburg (Montgomery, MD) Graduation Year: 2009 Summary: Stanley was regarded as the most dominant defensive player in Montgomery County as a junior, amassing 37 tackles for loss, 16 1/2 sacks and forcing nine fumbles during the 2007 season. Stanley said he took about 10 campus visits this spring and that Penn State was by far his favorite. A few days before committing to the Nittany Lions, Stanley won the Maryland 4A shot put title with a personal-best 60 feet. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Stanley said the migration of area players in the class of 2009 to State College played a part in his decision, adding that when Lackey cornerback Darrell Givens recently changed his commitment from Ohio State to Penn State "that made it even more interesting." Gaithersburg Coach Kreg Kephart said Stanley seriously considered Maryland, Georgia, Stanford, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Nebraska. Video
