The annual fair features carnival rides, livestock, poultry shows and vendors. Exhibits and events highlight the life and times of the U.S. naval hero buried under the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. The day begins with a wreath laying and historical presentation in the crypt and continues with the raising of the U.S. and Bonhomme Richard flags, special tours, demonstrations, warrant signings, a slide lecture and activities for children.

Hundreds of tourists and boating enthusiasts crowd the docks of Annapolis for the U.S. Sailboat and U.S. Powerboat shows, which feature hundreds of boat displays and vendors selling boating attire, electronics and foul-weather gear. The events include workshops and classes on boat financing and sailing.
