The operation is a part of the Department of Emergency Services. The Tri-County Animal Shelter houses homeless animals and handles adoptions for Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's counties. The shelter is at 6707 Animal Shelter Rd., Hughesville. Hours to drop off or reclaim an animal are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. Adoption hours are noon-5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. Closed Sundays. The shelter phone number is 301-932-1713. |
