What is Tourney Tracker?
Tourney Tracker lets you and your friends make your picks for the men’s college basketball tournament brackets, then follow the action as the games update online. You even get a handy printout of your choices.
What is the Watch List?
It’s our way of encouraging constructive and supportive communication among friends. The Watch List allows you to select up to 15 names from the main list on the left and track them separately. It’s a great way to see how your friends are doing with their picks and how they compare with yours. Not that you would have anything riding on the results or anything.
To add a friend, click on the [+ Watch] link next to anyone’s name in the main list.
To remove someone, click on the [-] next to their name in your Watch List. To remove everyone, click on “Clear List” in the upper right corner of your Watch List.
How do I set up my brackets?
Just start at Round 1 and select the teams you think will win the match-up in each bracket The winner you select will automatically appear in the next round. No carpal tunnel for you!
Looking for inspiration or interested in avoiding the popular favorites? The red percentage you’ll see for each team pair shows how many other people have selected the same match-up.
Once you have your brackets filled in, make sure to enter your prediction for the championship game score (in case we need to break a tie), your Tourney Tracker user name (be nice – we’re going to peek at these, just in case), and your age and gender (we only look at overall trends and don’t save individual answers, we promise).
When you’re ready, hit the “Submit Bracket” button and let the trash talking begin.
Why isn’t my Tracker Name being accepted?
Tracker Names need to be unique. The setup will let you know if the name you’re typing has already been selected by someone else.
When do I have to have my brackets done?
We “freeze” the brackets just minutes before Round 1 games tip-off on Thursday March 20.
Can I print my brackets?
Far be it from us to interfere with workplace productivity this month. We’ve included a “Print My Brackets” link on the brackets page so you can print a handy souvenir of your choices.
Do the brackets “freeze” before play begins?
They do indeed. As tip-off begins
What is the "points" column on the Tourney Tracker?
Points are how we track your standing among all the other bracketeers. The points are awarded as follows:
- 2 points for a win in the first round
- 4 points for a win in the second round
- 8 points for a win in the Sweet 16 round
- 16 points for a win in the Elite 8 round
- 32 points for a win in the Final 4 round
- 64 points for a win in the Championship
No points are awarded for neatness or spelling, but it is truly appreciated.
How do I find the brackets of my friends (or enemies)?
We’ve included a search box on both the Brackets and the Tracker pages. On the Tracker page you can also click “View All” at the top of the left-hand column to see all Tracker names. But seeing as how thousands of people will be participating, we first suggest a quick shout-out to your friends to get their user name. They’ll be easier to pinpoint this way.
How can my friends play?
Just send them this link:

How often do the game scores update?
Scores are updated every minute. The Tourney Tracker rankings (in the main list on the left and in your Watch List) are recalculated every minute as well.
How does the Scoreboard work?
The "Games in Progress" tab will load as a default. Those game scores (and related bracket rankings) update every minute. The tabs for all the regions are also available along the top of the Tracker page. These show each team’s ranking within their region.
What other stats are available?
On the brackets page (in the box with the "Submit Bracket" button), you can see the percentage of other users who have selected the same Final Four teams, the same championship game teams and the same overall winner.
On the Tracker page we’ve included overall points in the main column on the left. Check out your Watch List for your average ranking in the tournament thus far and your highest ranking thus far.
Random Statistics: When you filled out your brackets we asked your gender and age. From that we created the Random Statistics on the Tracker page. These are used in group format and not used for any other purpose. We promise. Really.
