12/09/07 Accused Of: Disturbing the Peace, Simple Assault and Failure to Pay a Cab Fare
Was accused of hitting a taxi cab driver in the back of the head, and then becoming verbally abusive to police officers who attempted to arrest him that night.
Legal Status Updates:
         07/17/08 Released: Broncos cut the 34-year-old punter.
         05/28/08 Pleaded guilty to a lesser charge: Sauerbrun pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace only. Judge Andre Rudolph gave him 24 hours of public service and a one-year unsupervised deferred judgment. He also was ordered to pay $216 in court costs. The case will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble over the next year. Despite the plea, Sauerbrun professed his innocence outside the courthouse.
