By Channel '08: Mitt Romney is airing a new ad in Iowa attacking new frontrunner Mike Huckabee, as polls show the former Arkansas governor surging even farther ahead of the former Massachusetts governor. The 30-second spot, called "Choice: The Record," clearly states that the two candidates have several similarities: They're both former governors, "two good family men," both pro-life, and in support of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. But on the issue of immigration, the ad states, Romney and Huckabee differ. "Mitt Romney stood up and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal aliens. Opposed driver's licenses for illegals," the announcer says. "Mike Huckabee? Supported in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants.
