Like most defense contractors, SteelCloud keeps some of the details of its contracts under wraps. On Jan. 11, for example, it announced that it had signed a $2.7 million multi-year contract with "a large U.S. Department of Defense agency ... to help unify and simplify the management of their enterprise-wide infrastructure." A week later, SteelCloud said it had made a $3.6 million deal with a "major federal integrator ... for specialized, high-performance appliance servers."
SteelCloud moved its headquarters and operational facilities from Dulles to Herndon last spring. And it won two patents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office for wireless network security and intrusion detection technology.
The company reported a loss of $133,000 in its fiscal year ended Oct. 31, compared with a restated loss of $881,000 in the comparable period a year earlier. Revenue was $36.5 million, up 29 percent. The company said it restated its fiscal 2004 results to record a non-cash gain from a change in its accounting for the value of warrants to purchase its common stock.
