Analex keeps getting bigger. The security contractor's revenue grew 50 percent in 2005 compared with a year earlier. However, Analex reported a net loss to common shareholders of $6.7 million, related to charges associated with acquisitions. Last spring, Analex completed the $47 million acquisition of ComGlobal Systems Inc., which specializes in software and information technology for the military. ComGlobal's largest customer is the Navy's Tomahawk cruise missile program.
In June, the company was one of the winners of a $44.8 million contract to support the Navy Sea System Command. In July, Analex won a three-year Navy agreement worth up to $47 million to supply engineering services and software.
Analex also expanded its business with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with two new contracts to provide support for satellites and other unmanned vehicles and to provide ground services and flight technical support in engineering.
In February of this year, Analex was awarded a five-year, $7.7 million Missile Defense Agency contract to provide security support to missile defense facilities in Huntsville, Ala.
The company also expanded its senior leadership team. Analex added C. Wayne Grubbs as its senior vice president and chief financial officer and Stephen C. Matthews as senior vice president of business development.
