The biggest news for Inova was its merger with nonprofit Loudoun Healthcare Inc. The deal increases Inova's reach in Northern Virginia, adding several facilities. They include the 94-year-old Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne, the Leesburg Emergency Center, the Loudoun Adult Medical Psychiatric Services in Leesburg, and the Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lansdowne.
Inova has pledged $200 million to upgrade Loudoun Hospital's services, build four smaller health centers across Loudoun County and construct an urgent-care center south of Washington Dulles International Airport. Inova also has completed some renovations of other facilities.
In April of this year, Inova moved to expand its empire further, proposing to take over Prince William Hospital in Manassas and promising to invest $200 million on improvements.
