What kind of educational training does your company provide? Do you offer tuition reimbursement?

Employees in our operations positions receive a wide variety of training to ensure they are qualified to perform the tasks of their jobs. We also have a leadership development program for supervisory employees, and interactions skills training for non-supervisory employees. Our tuition reimbursement is a maximum of $5,250 per year for job-related or degree programs.

Are you hiring or do you plan to hire this year?

Yes. Our primary hiring needs are for the entry-level, union-eligible positions of meter readers and helper mechanics; and for a variety of positions in the finance organization.

What kinds of philanthropic programs or volunteer activities does your company participate in or provide?

Our signature philanthropic program is the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF). Founded nearly a quarter century ago in collaboration with the Salvation Army to assist residents who do not qualify for, or who have exhausted, government assistance. This year WAFF disbursed $890,000 to help more that 8,400 residents in the DC metropolitan area.

This year, employees made donations to assist more than 200 charities nationwide. Volunteers donated thousands of hours of their own time to help our less fortunate neighbors.
