Allegis Group, which has more than 220 offices nationwide, was founded in 1983 by Stephen J. Bisciotti and James C. Davis as Aerotek, an aerospace staffing firm with two clients. Aerotek is now one of Allegis Group's operating companies. Bisciotti is the majority owner of the Baltimore Ravens football team.
Last November, Allegis subsidiary TekSystems, which is the nation's largest information technology staffing firm, agreed to buy the commercial services business of Computer Horizons, a publicly traded information technology services company headquartered in Mountain Lakes, N.J. Founded in 1969, Computer Horizons has a foothold in 16 states, as well as three locations in Canada and an offshore presence in Chennai, India. Terms were not disclosed.
