What is your telecommuting policy?
Many of McDonald's employees are set up as telecommuters. They have home offices, equipped with computers, printers, office supply cards, etc. in order to work remotely.
What flexible job opportunities does your company support?
McDonald's employees have the opportunity to learn various jobs. An employee can start out in restaurant operations and later decide he/she wants to work in Human Resources. Through our extensive training programs and ability to leverage outside sources, our employees will gain the training and development needed to be successful in the new role.
What kind of educational training does your company provide? Do you offer tuition reimbursement?
McDonald's commitment to employee development and opportunities extend throughout all levels of the organization. McDonald's conducts diversity training seminars designed for entry-level restaurant managers and staff.
The seminar provides McDonald's employees the opportunity to discuss successful career/life strategies and receive specific training for career development. As a matter of fact, McDonald's is listed as one of the Top 125 Companies for their excellence in training and development programs. In our company-based restaurants, tuition reimbursement is offered for most levels of management.

Does your company offer child care on the premises?
While we do not at this time offer child care on the premises, through our partnership with Kindercare and LaPetite Academy, our employees receive a 10% discount on child care services when using one of them.

McDonald's employees are offered free lunch whenever they work. We also offer company-paid vehicles for our company-based staff, which includes free maintenance and repair costs and free gas. We offer employees a Gold Card, which provides them with discounted benefits for more than 80 businesses and retailers throughout the metropolitan area or online.
What kinds of philanthropic programs or volunteer activities does your company participate in or provide?
McDonald's contributes significantly to Ronald McDonald Houses, which serve as a "home away from home" for families with seriously ill children. The Washington, DC area is home to two Ronald McDonald Houses, a Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children's National Medical Center, and a Ronald
McDonald Caremobile. As part of our ongoing commitment to the well-being of children and families, McDonald's employees support RMHC of Greater Washington, D.C. through volunteer efforts and fundraising events such as World Children's Day. In addition, our company staff employees are encouraged to take one day off per quarter to work in a volunteer capacity with their charity of choice.
