The Ourisman dealership group grew steadily last year as the company pushed toward a goal of $1 billion in revenue. Ourisman sold 36,200 vehicles in 2006, up slightly from 36,000 the previous year. Revenue rose 2 percent, to $915 million, according to Mandell J. Ourisman, chairman of the family-run, privately held company.
Ourisman said his Toyota stores in Chantilly and Fairfax are bursting at the seams. Last year, Ourisman remodeled the dealerships, doubling the size of service space. Ourisman picked up a Dodge Sprinter commercial-vehicle franchise in Howard County and added the Lincoln and Mercury brands to Ourisman Ford in Alexandria. He said the car business remained strong. "The overall condition of the market is good, and extra efforts on our part for domestic cars will keep them going," Ourisman said.
