Rosenthal sold its Tysons Corner Honda and Infiniti dealerships to Sonic Automotive, the large dealer chain based in Charlotte. Michael Baron, Rosenthal's chief financial officer, wouldn't elaborate on the deal. Because of the sales, Rosenthal's revenue fell 14 percent in 2006. The company said the number of new cars it sold that year rose 4 percent, to 17,728.
In March 2007, Rosenthal finished the overhaul of its Jaguar showroom in Tysons Corner that it initiated last year. A focus on customer service continued to pay off with awards recognizing customer satisfaction at Rosenthal's Acura store in Gaithersburg and its Arlington Mazda store. This year, Baron said all of Rosenthal's dealerships plan to expand service hours to Sundays. He said that Rosenthal wasn't actively looking to expand operations by buying other dealerships but that the company could be interested in doing so, especially if any foreign brands became available.
