What kind of educational training does your company provide? Do you offer tuition reimbursement?

SAIC is committed to the continued personal and professional development of our employees. Our training and development programs focus on the essential leadership, technical, and business skills needed to support our corporate mission, and align those skills with the career development objectives of our employees. The scope and effectiveness of our employee training programs led Training Magazine to choose SAIC as one of the Top 125 Companies for Training for 2007.

SAIC University represents the core of the company’s internally focused training efforts. Its mission is to build the technical talent and leadership capability needed to solve our customers’ most important business and mission-critical problems through best-in-class learning and leadership development experiences. Program offerings within SAIC University are established in conjunction with SAIC businesses to ensure their relevance to business initiatives and to the current and future requirements of our employees’ professional development. These programs combine different strategies to fit the developmental targets, learning styles and workplace demands of our employees and customers.

SAIC University’s curriculum covers a broad range of topics and is delivered in a variety of formats to ensure access by all employees. In addition to technical training, SAIC University provides leadership training to ensure that line managers have the necessary people management skills required to attract, retain and lead SAIC’s highly skilled workforce. These courses are targeted toward new managers, middle managers and senior managers and are provided in both classroom and a Web-based format.

Our e-learning capability provides the most in-demand business, leadership, interpersonal skills, information technology and desktop courses in a 24/7 format. In addition to providing skills training, SAIC’s e-learning vendor has agreements with certain colleges and universities to provide academic degree credit for completion of appropriate Web-based courses. SAIC has also negotiated discounted group rates for graduate programs with local colleges and universities in many SAIC locations.
