SI International continued to be profitable in 2006, with profit rising 19 percent. That's due in part to new business with the federal government. Contract awards include a $138 million, 10-year deal with the Department of Commerce's Patent and Trademark Office and an $84 million deal for the State Department's National Visa Center. The company was also among several winners of a contract to provide information technology to the Navy's SeaPort Enhance program, a contracting initiative to offer financial and program management services. Under the contract, SI International can compete for orders in the $5.3 billion project.
In September, the company named Leslee Gault chief marketing officer. Gault, a former partner at IBM, will report directly to company president S. Bradford Antle. In October, SI International named Maureen Baginski, an intelligence community insider, to its board of directors. Baginski was the executive assistant director of intelligence at the FBI from 2003 to 2005. For more than two decades before that, she held a variety of posts at the National Security Agency, including signals intelligence director.
