A granddaddy of Washington lobbying firms, Cassidy & Associates has been in the government relations business for more than 32 years. The firm helped engineer the first modern earmarked appropriations — federal funds directed by Congress to public or private institutions when no federal agency had proposed spending the money. Last year, Cassidy launched a global affairs and trade group led by a former U.S. ambassador to Tunisia and former deputy inspector general for Iraq reconstruction, Robin Raphel.
