More than 360,000 children a year come through Children's National Medical Center, which boasts of ranking as one of the best pediatric care centers in the United States. The hospital has 283 beds at its main location on Michigan Avenue NW as well as seven outpatient centers in the region. In November, it opened a new wing, with more privacy for children and their families and washers and dryers on every floor. The hospital is affiliated with George Washington University.
