A maker of specialty chemicals, Grace has been operating under bankruptcy protection since 2001. In April, the company agreed to settle long-standing asbestos-related claims with cash, future payments to a victims' trust and 10 million warrants that would allow claimants to buy company stock at a favorable price. The settlement, worth about $1.8 billion, allows Grace to move forward with its reorganization. Since it filed for bankruptcy protection, Grace has more than doubled its sales.
