Ogilvy Government Relations, known until last year as the Federalist Group, has grown rapidly since it became a bipartisan lobbying shop a couple of years ago after long employing only Republicans. Its clients include Citigroup, Chevron and Verizon, but it made its name last year by providing lobbying help to the private-equity firms Blackstone Group and Carlyle Group. It received $3.74 million in the first half of last year from Blackstone, one of the heftiest six-month payments to any lobbyist ever reported.
