Profit grew almost 20 percent in 2008, but General Dynamics lowered its 2009 outlook on signs of trouble at its Gulfstream unit as the demand for personal and business jets dropped. Jay L. Johnson, a former chief executive of Dominion Virginia Power, is set to replace Nicholas D. Chabraja as chief executive on July 1. Chabraja, who's been chief executive and chairman since 1997, will remain chairman through May 2010.
