Geico, the fourth-biggest car insurer, is owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett called himself and Geico's chief executive "two hungry mosquitos in a nudist camp" when discussing the opportunities the insurer sees. It captured 7.7 percent of the car insurance market last year. Geico's full name is the Government Employees Insurance Co., reflecting its beginnings in selling insurance to government workers and military personnel.
