The team is owned by Lincoln Holdings, an investment partnership led by former AOL executive Ted Leonsis that also owns the WNBA's Washington Mystics, a stake in the Wizards, and 44 percent of Washington Sports & Entertainment, the Verizon Center's corporate owner. Led by MVP Alex Ovechkin, the Capitals made it into the postseason and have doubled ticket-sales staff. Despite a modest increase in prices for next season, they hope to clear out ticket inventory before the first puck drops next fall.
