Mars may be best known for making M&Ms, but it also makes other vending-machine fare such as Snickers, pet-care products and rice. With help from Berkshire Hathaway last year, Mars bought out chewing-gum maker Wm Wrigley Jr. for $23 billion, creating the world's largest candymaker. It has been pushing for legislation to revise school food nutrition standards and last year began publishing new, clearer nutrition labels on its products.
