Micros has put touch-screen registers and other technology in hotels, casinos, cruise ships, stadiums, stores and restaurants in 130 countries. In August, it bought e-commerce firm Fry for $31.3 million. Despite the sensitivity of its customers to economic problems, Micros posted a 12 percent gain in profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31. Its international business has been hit doubly hard, with both the recession and foreign currency fluctuations.
