ComScore tracks which Web sites people visit, how much time they spend on them and which ads they view. Its reports have moved shares of companies including Google. Advertisers say ComScore's numbers are more important than ever as they cut back their budgets. Profit grew more than 30 percent in 2008 as new customers signed up and existing ones renewed subscriptions. About 80 percent of ComScore's revenue comes from multiyear subscriptions.
