Manuel Roig-Franzia

» Washington Post Staff Writer | Manuel Roig-Franzia roams Latin America and the Caribbean for the Washington Post and is based in Mexico City. He was born in Spain and has worked for the Washington Post since 2000, first as a general assignment writer on the newspaper's Maryland staff and later as the newspaper's southern correspondent based in Miami. Before coming to The Post, he wrote for The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, where he learned, among other things, to make a mean gumbo.
