Maureen Fan is Beijing Bureau Chief for The Washington Post. Fan began her reporting career with the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. She has reported for the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, the New York Daily News and the San Jose Mercury News. As New York Bureau Chief for the Mercury News, Fan reported on business, technology and breaking news, including the Sept. 11 attacks. She also covered postwar Iraq for Knight Ridder Newspapers. Fan joined The Washington Post's metro staff in 2004.
