Established through the integration of the former Customer Solutions and Electronics & Integrated Solutions operating groups, EI&S allows BAE Systems to better respond to growing market demands for training, maintenance, and upgrade support of its products and services. Detica Group PLC was acquired by BAE Systems (Holdings) Limited on Sept. 25, 2008, and de-listed from the London Stock Exchange on Oct. 23, 2008. The U.S. Government Division was formed by the merger of DFI International and Detica Inc in 2007.
MTC Technologies, Inc. (MTC Technologies), a Dayton, Ohio-based company providing technical and professional services as well as equipment integration and modernization for the U.S. military and intelligence agencies, was acquired by BAE Systems on Dec. 4, 2007.
On March 17, 2008, NCI, Inc. announced that it had completed the acquisition to acquire certain assets of MTC Technologies, Inc. Command Technologies, Inc. (CTI), acquired by MTC in 2004, was itself a professional services firm providing system engineering, technical services, logistic support services, training services, technology applications, information systems engineering, network systems support, and research and development. CTI provided on-site MASINT expertise to theater Commanders.
In March 2005, BAE agreed to buy the combat vehicle and armaments manufacturer United Defense Industries. BAE Systems also acquired DigitalNet (formerly User Technology Associates) in September 2004.
