Recovery Point Systems, Inc. ("Recovery Point") was founded in 1999 by First Federal Corporation (est. 1982), a leading off-site data storage provider, to address two conflicting trends in the disaster recovery industry.
The first trend was an evolving demand for comprehensive disaster recovery solutions that would minimize risk and accelerate the recovery of all aspects of a customer's business and technology operations. The second was fragmentation of the vendors required to deliver this enhanced level of service. Recovery Point was launched to deploy an all-inclusive service delivery model for disaster recovery, and give customers a comprehensive solution that the traditional component service providers were unable to provide.
Recovery Point pioneered the Integrated Disaster Recovery Supplier business model by combining Hot Site, Cold Site and Work Area recovery, Off-Site Data Storage and Transportation, Electronic Data Vaulting and Hosting under a single contract and delivering all of these services together at secure, purpose-built facilities provisioned with carrier-class network resources.
Since its inception in 1999, Recovery Point has expanded to include resources in Germantown and Gaithersburg, MD, Chicago, IL (Kenosha, WI) and Bethlehem, PA, with additional integrated facilities in development. Recovery Point's roster of customers includes government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and a broad array of commercial and non-profit organizations from across the country.
Recovery Point is privately held and has been profitable for many years. There have been no changes in senior management or ownership since inception and there are no venture capital or other outside parties invested in Recovery Point.
Recovery Point is committed to innovation and continued investment to further its mission goals. As leaders of change, we offer a refreshing and unique alternative to the traditional service providers in the industry.
