| Official Web siteArmy intelligence is one of 16 elements of the "intelligence community" (IC). The Department of the Army's IC component is also known as Army Military Intelligence (Army MI). The deputy chief of staff (DCS) G-2 is the Army staff principal responsible for Army MI. The DCS G-2 mission is to formulate Army intelligence policy, plans, programs and budgets and is responsible for Army-level oversight of multidisciplined intelligence operations, intelligence support to computer network operations, MI personnel, training, readiness and equipping, security, foreign liaison and future threats. The DCS G-2 plans and executes the Army Intelligence Campaign Plan in support of Army transformation, enabling effective all-source intelligence at brigade combat team, battalion and company levels, as well as other tactical Army organizations and activities.
