"Focusing on accountability, I'll work to bridge the gap between the working and middle class. Quality schools, safe and healthy neighborhoods, jobs are my priorities."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Ward 7 has a health disparities crisis. In addition to the epidemic of HIV-AIDS, we suffer disproportionately from chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and kidney disease. Our seniors, children, working families and uninsured population must be provided access to quality health care. To improve health outcomes, I will focus on prevention, patient education and accountability measures. I will also push to build a full-service hospital at the Deanwood Metro station and create an entire industry to ensure sustainability. We must attract physician offices, clinics, pharmacies and community health centers to Ward 7."
