What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"The most urgent issue facing Ward 7 is the double problem of poverty plus gentrification, which has resulted in new pockets of affluence but done nothing to improve conditions for the most vulnerable. At rates of 24 percent in the ward and 28 percent in Zip code 20019, shameful and significant levels of poverty compromise quality of life for all residents. Ward 7 must have quality neighborhood public schools, community-based alternative programs for youths and adults, more truly affordable housing, comprehensive health care, a commitment to community policing and improved mass transit networks."
