What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Sustainable, affordable housing in both apartments and single-family homes is critical to the preservation of our cultural diversity here in Takoma Park. Every year Takoma Park is losing valuable rental units because the current rent-control laws. Apartments needed by lower-income families are being lost to condo or single-family home conversions. Longtime residents are being displaced by an ever-increasing tax burden. The tax rate here in Takoma Park is even higher than in Bethesda. We must act before Takoma Park loses the longtime residents who make Takoma Park the unique community it is."
