Why should voters elect you?
I hope they will reelect me because I care. In 26 years, I have made a difference, but there is more we need to do.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
My highest priority is strengthening public safety. This reflects my long-standing support for the police and fire departments, including advocacy for more police and for other crime-control and safety measures. We have one of Maryland's best police departments. However, recent developments are the basis for concern. Our main problem area has been the large Springhill Lake apartment complex, but crime has increased recently in other parts of the city. An immediate problem is the recent crime problem on both sides of the pedestrian overpass across the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. I have proposed surveillance cameras and use of retired officers on foot patrol.
