Why should voters elect you?
Only I can provide an unbiased review of the new zoning ordinance. I will review and moderate budget expenditures. I take clear positions; see www.votepierzchala.org.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
Rockville is totally rewriting its zoning ordinance. While there is good reason for undertaking this endeavor, the new zoning ordinance will impact the development of the city's landscape for decades. In turn, new zoning regulations will influence our quality of life with respect to traffic, schools, tax base and infrastructure. In the mayor and council's review of the proposal, there will be many opportunities to improve on the current ordinance. On the other hand, there will be risks of unintended consequences. The mayor and council must review the draft ordinance thoroughly, in an open-minded manner, and get it right.
