Why should voters elect you?

Experience/leadership: six years on council; five on planning commission; my pivotal role in building Town Center; controlling growth; supporting environment, pedestrian safety, neighborhoods, arts.

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

As mayor, I'll put Rockville on the cutting edge of environmental responsibility. We must reduce our greenhouse gases and carbon footprint. With my aggressive 'Clean and Green Rockville' initiative, all new development will meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards for high-performance green buildings; the city will adopt clean energy, including wind and solar power; the city will transition to hybrid technology for all city vehicles; within my first 100 days, I will commission a benchmark energy study to determine how we are impacting our environment. If we cannot measure it, we cannot manage it!
