Why should voters elect you?

I'll work with organizations like Takoma Park Community Action Group to empower grass-roots participation in policy-making, community improvement and development of higher levels of self-sufficiency.

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Takoma Park's fiscal planning process needs a complete overhaul. I will work with other council members to design a budget document with meaningful detail, adhere to a budget cycle with sufficient time for thoughtful decisions, implement a new time reporting system and update the chart of accounts so we can track costs more precisely, and procure new accounting software to enhance financial management. Coupled with carefully designed periodic reporting, these changes will give the council better information for minimizing expenditures and negotiating more fair rebates of county taxes. Sound fiscal planning can save tax dollars and help improve city services.
