Why should voters elect you?
"I have a strong track record of economic development, community service and engaging Loudoun families and businesses in building a better home for us all."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"We must stop irresponsible development and sweetheart deals that harm our community. These mismanaged deals force our county to grow faster than our infrastructure can handle. As a result, our traffic grows worse and worse, our schools are overcrowded and our taxes go up every year to pay for it all. We need forward-thinking policies that link where and how we build new neighborhoods to existing and planned infrastructure. This is about our quality of life, about parents getting home to their children at night, our students receiving a world-class education and the success of local businesses and their employees."
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
We must address the root causes of our traffic problems. When we build houses in isolated areas with little road infrastructure far away from job centers, we create congestion on local roads and our commuting corridors like Rt. 50, 7, 28, and 267. We need to build new neighborhoods near existing infrastructure and job centers.
We must complete our local road grid and work toward a balance of jobs and houses in our communities, so that Loudoun residents have the choice to work near their home.
Any changes to the countyâs comprehensive plan and zoning must include traffic impact analysis on nearby roads and our commuting corridors.
I will encourage businesses to allow telecommuting and flex work schedules to take the pressure of our roads during rush hour.
I will support other transportation options including rail to Dulles, buses, and bicycle and pedestrian paths.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
just right
