What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"The greatest challenge facing Fairfax County at this time is the issue of traffic congestion. I have witnessed the tremendous growth in the area over the past 39 years and have come to understand how this issue affects the lives of everyone in Fairfax County, causing increased pollution, traffic accidents and fatalities, while putting a strain on our economy."

What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?

The General Assembly needs to approve funding to increase our use of public transportation, specifically through the expansion of rail. While this will be a huge expense up front, it allows for future growth of the county. Traffic congestion, if not addressed now, will continue to grow worse. The more money our citizens spend on gasoline, the less they can spend on essential items. Less money can be spent on home improvements, retirement savings, health care, etc. Only by increasing the use of public transportation can we ensure that future generations will live in a clean, smog-free environment, with fewer traffic accidents and fatalities, and with more room for growth in our communities
