Why should voters elect you?

"As Senate's senior member, I have brought millions of state dollars to my district. GMU, NVCC: past five years a half-billion dollars in transportation funding."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"The extremely high number of illegal immigrants."

What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?

The transportation legislation which passed the 2007 session of the General Assembly does not solve our problem, but will be a help. Most important is better land use which must be inter-jurisdictional. All of our localities must cooperate with each other. We cannot have a good transportation system without controlled land use. They must work “hand in glove.”

Critical projects must be addressed first. The Gainesville Route 29/I-66 interchange is a priority project followed by widening Route 95 from Fairfax to Fredericksburg, the Expansion of VRE from Manassas to Haymarket, a railroad grade separation at Rout 28, and Wellington Road in Manassas is another priority.

In the future, with federal help Metro should be extended west.

Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?

not restrictive enough
