Why should voters elect you?
"Voters should elect me because I am a problem-solver and not an ideologue. As a businessman, I am great at solving tough problems."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Transportation is the most urgent problem. I will introduce at least one bill every year to address the traffic crisis. If elected, I will introduce legislation that repeals the abusive-driver fees, protects the transportation trust fund, requires competitive bidding on all transportation projects, creates a statewide intelligent information system with congestion information available by 511, separates transportation maintenance funds from construction funds and redirects more funds to targeted intersections."
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
AS the chief legislative assistant for appropriations to Delegate Callahan, I understand the Virginia Assembly and its leaders. I am also an expert on the state budget. My plan to address the traffic problems is listed above under the most urgent problem facing us. The way to achieve those transportation goals is to work across party lines and regional lines. Unlike my opponent who wants to "turn the district blue" and have one party rule, I am willing to work across party lines and to turn the Northern Virginia legislative delegation into a caucus. Because NOrthern Virginia does not have enough votes in the General Assembly the Democrats and Republicans in Northern Virginia need to work together to get the legislation we need to address our unique issues. I will lead that effort if elected.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
