Why should voters elect you?
I am the only candidate with a sincere effort to bring ICE (287g) to Loudoun County to deter crime and gang activity by illegal aliens.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
The rising crimes committed by illegal aliens and their involvement in the rapid growth of violent gangs. This issue has gone unchecked for years. I believe in using the tools we currently have to deter this activity in Loudoun. The best program available to law enforcement is through the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), called 287g. Participation in this program will allow our deputies to identify illegal aliens who have committed crimes in Loudoun, for the purpose of deportation. Currently, these individuals are allowed back on our streets and in our communities.
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
I beleive the sheriff must take a more proactive role in addressing dangerous roads. The sheriff must push the Board of Supervisors and those in Richmond to deal with problem areas where lives are being lost. I also believe the sheriff should use our deputies more effectively in problem areas rather than relying on citizen surveillance like red light cameras. In addition, I strongly oppose the abusive driver fees which are, much like the red light cameras, simply revenue makers. These fees punish Va drivers unfairly as out of state drivers are not subject to these same fines. Finally, having a better working relationship with the state police will allow us to respond more quicky to accidents and traffic complaints to keep drivers moving.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
