Why should voters elect you?

"I have a record of accomplishments fighting for the security of our families and remain committed to improving the quality of life in our community."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Illegal immigration is the most urgent problem facing every corner of Virginia. Those that live here illegally are flooding emergency services, burdening educational institutions and straining the courts. That's why I wrote successful legislation to require proof of legal Virginia residence in order to obtain a driver's license. I have also written legislation that would allow the state to turn over illegal immigrants arrested for violent felonies to federal authorities. But more must be done. Without action, the lawful residents of Virginia will continue to face dwindling resources and the threat of increased violence."

What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?

As a daily commuter myself I am well aware of the traffic problems we face in Northern Virginia. Ensuring our roads and transportation projects receive the funding they need should remain a top priority. That’s why I am proud to have been a chief co-sponsor of the successful transportation funding compromise achieved this year. This bill will now provide an additional $500 million annually for Northern Virginia roads and transit systems. Though we have made progress, we must continue to protect the transportation trust fund from raids by politicians seeking to fund pet projects, and to ensure that Northern Virginia gets its fair share of transportation dollars. Regarding to the controversial “abuser fees”, I am committed to fixing this legislation and making it fair to all Virginians. This means making sure the fees apply to only the very worst drivers and drivers from out-of-state.

Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
