Why should voters elect you?

"My experience as a legislator, businessman/engineer and inventor provides skills that are a great resource when making difficult decisions facing my district and the state."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Transportation is my top priority. Virginia, and Northern Virginia in particular, have a major transportation problem which threatens our economic well-being and way of life. We finally have funding for transportation improvements, and the challenge will be to maximize the use of the funding. This plan increased funding and made the Virginia Department of Transportation more accountable and efficient. As chairman of the VDOT oversight committee, I plan to change the way VDOT operates. As the senior member of the House Transportation Committee, I will continue to work to ensure this funding is effectively used."

What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?

I will carefully asses what funds we have available in light of HB 3202 and based on that, generate a carefully prioritized list of transportation projects. The list must include highway, bus, rail transit and rail freight which reflects the realities of present day transportation solutions available to us. Telecommuting needs a fresh approach to realize its potential benefits.

Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?

not restrictive enough
